Orthopedics in Munich: Treatment of Joint Problems and Pain
In addition to specialising in the treatment of spinal diseases and back pain, we of course offer you a variety of other orthopaedic care: from joint problems, sport traumas and misalignments as well as degenerative illnesses of the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee or foot, through to osteoarthritis and osteoporosis therapy.
All necessary examinations that we require for a sound diagnosis can be performed at our three spinal pain medical care centres. In this case you will not need to arrange any follow-up appointments. You will instead be examined directly in our radiology department after the personal interview and clinical examination. This is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in order to perform all necessary examinations for a careful diagnosis.
Our experienced specialists from various disciplines work hand in hand. Our interdisciplinary team of doctors will get to the root of your orthopaedic problems. With our interdisciplinary therapy concept, we offer both a rapid diagnosis and the best possible treatment.
Shoulder pain can significantly restrict the flexibility of our arms and the ability to use our arms throughout our everyday lives. It is mostly due to many years of inappropriate and disproportionate physical stresses that lead to painful inflammations of the muscles, tendons and bursae. Due to the highly complex anatomical relationships and movements in the shoulder area, you should confide in an experienced orthopaedist. Dr. Schneiderhan and his team help you to alleviate your pain as quickly as possible.
Elbow pain can occur due to sporting or professional pressures and stresses. They lead to significant restrictions throughout everyday life, as the arm can no longer be moved as frequently as usual. Painful inflammations of the tendons or bursae of the elbow are usually responsible for the pain. We create a customised therapy concept for you, in order to help you as best as possible.
Because diseases of the hands may have a variety of causes, it is important to consult an experienced and competent expert. Based on a detailed clinical examination and complementary imaging techniques, we create a treatment concept individually tailored to rapidly alleviate pain and discomfort.
The hip is the joint of the musculoskeletal system that undergoes the most stress. Hips act as shock absorbers when running, jumping and walking, and enable extensive movements. Hip pain therefore can considerably restrict our quality of life. While the causes of hip pain can be varied, years of inappropriate, disproportionate and excessive physical stresses are often the cause. Based on the detailed diagnosis, we create an individual treatment concept, specifically to treat your pain.
In Germany alone, it is estimated that up to ten million people are affected by knee pain. The largest joint in the human body must make a major contribution, because three times the body weight is placed on it at each and every step. Years of excessive physical stresses can lead to inflammations of the surrounding soft tissue, and to bursitis. Leg misalignments or injuries and accidents are also common causes of knee pain. For this reason, we conduct a detailed diagnosis in order to find the cause and be able to treat it in a targeted manner.
The feet have a complex structure and a complex function. Due to its numerous vulnerabilities, especially under high stress levels or over the course of the ageing process, misalignments can quickly result. If you have persistent foot pain and deformities, you should consult an experienced orthopaedist, who can offer you the right therapy. We support you on your way to a pain-free life.
Our multidisciplinary practice community views osteoarthritis operations as a very last resort. First of all, we use conservative therapy measures – for example, physiotherapy or physical therapy procedures, combined, if necessary, with cartilage-strengthening or anti-inflammatory medication.
If diagnosed early, conservative measures can make a positive contribution to osteoporosis therapy, in order to rapidly alleviate patients’ pain and discomfort. The further progression of the metabolic disease can also often be halted.
